YAKISHIME SANYU MIZUSASHI (Unglazed high-fired Sanyu Fresh Water Jar)

This is crafted by MATSUO. He has used two kinds of slips and designed patterns by the masking technique. It is mizusashi container for fresh-water in Japanese tea ceremony. He has put the jar into sayabachi refractory container with charcoal after firing. Sanyu means painting of pine bamboo and plum.

He had studied pottery in Kyoto. A wide range of style can be seen and he pursues the beauty of kiln mutation effect.
