Profile

She was born in Komatsui-shi, Ishikawa prefecture, the daughter of the thid generation potter, ASAKURA, Isokichi.
Graduation from department of Industrial design, Master degree program of Graduate from Kanazawa College of Art.
She consistently makes porcelain from the forming to firing, overglaze enamel at Isokichi Shinko Kiln.
Taking over the technique of deep yellow glaze of the former tradition, and she paints the new, brilliant design on the vessels.
Joint exhibition by the three generations of the Asakura family or group exhibition were held and her porcelains were exhibited.
Theme of the vessels is that she would like to use.
Tea utensils such as tea bowl, fresh water jar, incense burner, and tableware such as cups, plates, she paints "komon" pattern on entire those porcelains. The design reminds us of "Kimono".
The patterns have the grace and the dignity. The cool design gives us the pleasure to serve the dishes in many ways.
