Washizome Shimamon Kasei (和紙染縞文花生)
This is the Arita ware crafted by NAKAO, Hidezumi (中尾英純).
He attached pieces of traditional papers to the hexahedron diagonally and expressed the stripes.
Washizome technique :
Tearing absorbent papers called washi to pieces.
Making such papers layers to produce the pattern while giving out color gradation.
Height : 34 cm
Diameter : 10 cm
He cuts water-absorbent Japanse washi paper to the proper size, place the paper on the bisque ware, and soak it with cobalt blue colour. Please enjoy the elegant overlapping patterns.
