Karatsu Yakishime Mizusashi (唐津焼締水指)
This is the Karatsu ware crafted by MIZOKAMI, Yshihiro (溝上良博).
Firing in the climbing kiln. He made a technique called tataki-zukuri afrer forming with coils.
Tataki-zukuri is the way for molding using two kinds of plates tapping inside and outside.
It is mizusashi container for fresh-water in Japanese tea ceremony.
It is yakishime firing unglazed wares at high temperature.
He used the clay picked in the area of Karatsu that contained much iron.

Yoshihiro learned basics of ceramic in Kyoto. All local stones and clay are collected and the glazes are also mixed by himself, all lead to special color.
