Saishoku Zogan Guinomi (彩色象嵌ぐい呑)
This is the Arita ware crafted by NAKAO, Yasuzumi (中尾恭純).
He used the small knife to engrave cutting patterns on the soft suraface and buried paintings into it.
The knife is needed because it's less finished such delicate line patterns if he used brush.
That's the vase which requires very precise and detailed handwork.
