Sotenyu Tokkuri (蒼天釉花生)
This is the Kyoto ware crafted by TAKEMURA, Shigeo (竹村繁男).
The bunches of loquats were burned and they turned into ashes.
He uses those ashes as glaze. The clear blue color is beautiful.
The form is gourd-shape called hyotan.
Height : 18.5 cm
Width : 9 cm
TAKEMURA developed ash glaze by firing homegrown plants. It gives us gentle color with smooth texture.
