Haiyu Hanaike (灰釉花生)
This is the Kyoto ware crafted by TAKEMURA, Shigeo (竹村繁男).
It was burned in the makigama wood-fired kiln.
He put the ash glaze at upper body in advance and blue-green cloroed transparent glass materials are flowing and stopped halfway through vase.
Hiiro which means color of flame pattern has come out at lower body and that is distinctive characteristic of firing in the kiln.
Height : 20 cm
Width : 8 cm
He burns various plants and picks up as glaze to bring out quality of ash. It’s interesting that color varies depending on settings or temperature, even though same glaze is used.
