Yokoyu Chawan (陽向釉茶碗)
This is the Kyoto ware crafted by TAKEMURA, Shgieo (竹村繁男).
He made the shape by throwing on the potter's wheel.
He grows sunflower in his garden and makes unique glaze used ashes which burnt branches and flowers.
And it has turned to yellow color with painstaking work because it is required for exquisite temperature control.

TAKEMURA developed ash glaze by firing homegrown plants. It gives us gentle color with smooth texture.
