Ceramic Feature

Seiji Chawan (青瓷茶碗)

This is the ceramic crafted by KUMAMOTO, Yoshihiro (熊本義泰).
He made the shape by throwing on the potter's wheel.
He used the kaolin clay.
Celadon glaze is poured and it is baked with reduction flame.
There are cracks generated by shrinkage.

Having trained in Kyoto, Kumamoto returned to his hometown and built the pottery in Kashima-shi. He found enlightened charm to Chinese Seiji and devotes himself to create original celadon today.
