Shigaraki Daenzara (信楽楕円皿)
This is the Shigaraki ware crafted by ARAKAWA, Satoshi (荒川智).
Firing in a cave kiln.
It's finished with a method called tatara-zukuri.
Tatara is made by stretching clay into board to make a disk.
The flowing white spots give the plate movement in the firemarks.
Available for dishwasher.
