Hagi Guinomi Kohiki (萩ぐい呑粉引)
This is the Hagi ware crafted by OKADA, Yasushi (岡田泰).
White colored clay slip was applied to the body after throwing the potter's wheel.
We call the pattern cherry blossoms "sakura" or fireflies by regarding them as the season, because mottled pink dots are seen.
The quality called "tsuchiaji" is soft, deep sense of touch like texture.
Height : 4.5 cm
Diameter : 8.0 cm
OKADA majored in sculpture at the Tokyo Zokei University. He grow up in the traditional Hagi pottery, so it's natural to make Hagi ware.
