Japanese-made pottery
The title is Mizusashi Nuributa (水指 塗り蓋).
This is a fresh water jar created by Mori Teisai.
The good contrast between natural glaze of goma pattern and firemarks in the kiln.
Japanese urushi -lacquer- coating is attached to match the body.
- Hidasuki pattern
The straw was surrounded when firing in the kiln.
The traces of straw appeared like a crossing pattern.
The goma pattern is that it looks like the color by sprinkled sesame seeds produced by burning split pine wood in the kiln.
Mizusashi (水指)
A fresh-water pot for tea ceremony.
It's one of the tea utensils called "o-chadougu".
It comes in a variety of shapes, cylindrical type is often used.
Comes with a lid.
Lid made of pottery : the same material as the main body called tomo-buta.
Lid made of urushi : a different material from the main body and is made of Japanese urushi called nuri-buta.
Mizusashi is used for the following purpose.
・Adding water to the tea kettle
・Cleaning tools and tea bowl.

He was born into the Mori family, one of the six pottery relative lines -the Terami family-. Enjoy smooth and comfortable pattern beyond the tradition.
