  • Details:Kako-san lives in Tanbasasayama-shi, Hyogo prefecture. With a broad kinds of items, he built an "anagama" kiln himself. Creation to pursue both modern ornamentation and form in the flow of primeval time. Being at the gallery all day during the event.

  • Details:Kako-san is a ceramic artist who is based in Tanbasasayama-shi, Hyogo prefecture. He's got ispired from the Jomon earthenware, the Yayoi pottery and ancient western pottery. It's starting a new chapter in his life this year. And in the solo exhibition, a theme is tracing the trajectory of his creative process.

There's an enviroment which he got absorbed in nature, including water, soil, fields and mountains. Have a look at the new form of Tamba region's soil made by Ichino-san.

Joint exhibition - Ishikawa prefectural KOGEI- ceramics and Japanese urushi

  • Details: The joint exhibition of the 2nd Ishikawa prefectural "Kogei" is held in the gallery, Seiko department store in Tokyo. A wide range of traditional handicraft takes root in Ishikawa prefectural, such as Wazima-nuri lacquerware, Kutani ware and so forth. New members who active in various fields add to the show. Enjoy works that express multiple beauty by combining current sensibility into tradition whcih has continued since the Edo period (1603-1868).

MIKAWAUCHI Nakazato Tsutomu exhibition "Hakuji and Sometsuke"

  • Details:Mikawauchi-yaki is a ceramic made throughout Mikawachi-cho, Nagasaki prefecture. It's the pottery place preserving the tradition from the early Edo period to today. Nakazato-san challenges a broad array of pieces to ceramic lovers. They're including the karako pattern, the dragon, flowers, the shippo auspicious design and fish picture.

  • Details:Sato-san lives in Sagamihara-shi, Kanagawa prefecture. White porcelain named "yori" with unique shape, colored fois called "hakkosai" are characteristic of his pottery.

  • Details:Sakai-san lives in Toki-shi, Gifu prefecture. It is famous for producing the Mino ware including daily use tableware. He's also a ceramic artist and is trying to make pieces by being free from established concepts.

Okada Yuh exhibition

  • Details:Fujinoki-san is a Karatsu-yaki artist who makes tea pottery, sake vessels, tableware and others.

Itoi Yasuhiro exhibition

  • Details:Itoi-san is a ceramic artist who works in Nara Prefecture. His major in art is white and bluish-white porcelain with sharp tide ripple design. This is the first exhibition held in the gallery, Nihonbashimitsukoshi department store. He comes up with an idea for fragments of excavated items found in the Nara archaeological site. Tea bowls, incense burners, vases, flower vases, and sake cups that have evolved from ash glaze.

SHIMIZU, Ichiji exhibition

  • Details:Shimizu-san lives in Tanbasasayama-shi, Hyogo prefecture. More than 40 years have passed since he started making Tana ware pottery. In Osaka、this is the first exhibition in three years.

HAGI Ware Hagi denryu Ⅴ -Ceramic Art Exhibition by 6 Potters- "Shishin"

  • Details:This is the joint exhibition by six artists of Hagi Ware. Hagi-yaki is a pottery made throughout Hagi-shi, Yamaguchi prefecture. Once someone said skills without a poem is meaningless and a poem without technique seems to be helpless. The theme is a tea bowl creation based on a poem by Nakahara Chuya who represents in Yamaguchi prefecture. It's also a sign of respects by ceramists.

Nishikara-kai exhibition

  • Details:Wind used to blow from the west during national isolation in the Edo period (1603 - 1868). Values and foreign cultures also came from there. Such kind of thoughts have passed down to the craftsmen of pottery. Six ceramic artists gather to bring each tradition and skills. The production of pottery area range from Arita ware to Celadon ware, Karatsu ware, Koishiwara ware and Hagi ware. They care for their own sense of value, inspire each other and target at potential flourishes for creativity. There's a hope that the exihibition could touch people's sensibility and trigger a bit realization and joy.

  • Details:The Hakuen-kai exhibition is held in the gallery, Nihonbashimitsukoshi department store. The attendee took the white porcelain training course by Maeta Akihiro, Living National Treasure of White Porcelain. Three years have passed since the workshop, each participant utilized the results of their training in their own work.

  • Details:Miyamoto-san lives in Komatsu-shi, Ishikawa prefecture, which is famous for Kutani ware production area. The profound feeling by Japanese paint and the line taste, he places emphasis on these skills to decortate.

Shomura Hisaki exhibition

  • Details:Aritai-yaki artist, Hisaki-san holds the exhibition in the gallery, Sogo department store in Hiroshima. He is captivated by whiteness and smoothness which Arita-yaki has. A series of years were continued that he pursued something that comes from white. One is an elegant, refined white porcelain, and the other feature is a glazed ceramic included destructive, impulsive energy. Both are indespensable resources for his career.

Takamori Seiji joint exhibition

  • Details:Aritai-yaki artist, Takamori-san holds the exhibition in the gallery, Seiko department store in Tokyo. This is a joint exhibition by three ceramic artists. People say the Arita-cho, saga prefecture is a birthplace of porcelain in Japan. They each live in Arita-cho or near Arita village and work as ceramists. The theme of the exhibition is "Ji ni hikari wo yadosu" that means different lights remain in the porcelain such as natural, impression.

Okada Yasushi exhibition

Nakao Jun exhibition

  • Details:Arita-yaki artist. This is the second time exhibition to be held at the gallery in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi department store. The purpose is to make use of the characteristics of porcelain clay and to explore the potential which the soil has got. And he also challenges to create the style called "yu-zogan", which refers to the application of inlay with special glaze. Jun-san hopes that you may enjoy a slightly different design in a traditional Arita ware form.

  • Details:Moriyama-san lives in Toho-mura, Fukuoka prefecture, which is famous for Koishiwara ware. This is the fourth time exhibition held in the Nihonbashi Takayashimaya department store. He used the flow of plants that live in nature as the material for modeling, and pursue the interesting shapes and curves that are produced from feeling, thinking, and touching those modeling.
