Ceramic Feature

Tenkoku Zogan Koro Fuji (点刻象嵌香炉富士)

This is an Arita ware incense burner which Yasuzumi-san has created.
He curved the dots with sticking the cotton noodle into the half-dried surface.
Painitings were inserted by fine brush and he layered the colors many times.
Fuji-san is the tallest mountain in Japan and is loved by people.
The scenery is beautiful beyond description with dignity, so it's good to give a present.

Tenkoku zogan (点刻象嵌)
Yasuzumi-san has mastered the art of stipping inlay and has named "tenkoku-zogan".
One day he wanted to creat something new apart from the Arita ware.
There are a wide variety of ceramic artists through all ages.
He just tried cutting soft soil to do something unusual.

While the ceramic is still soft, Yasuzumi-san uses a cotton needle to make dots and fill paints in them.
There are millions of needle holes, coloring over and over, then it takes a long-running time to complete.
The work is ready as it looks like a picture, for example impressionism pointillism.
