Kasama Ware
Profile
The young pottery artist from Kasama-shi, Ibaraki prefecture.
He is absorbed in making pottery with his elegant sense and quiet personal character.
His arts are all forming by his hands.
Unevenness done by engraving the surface of a vessel by the spatura gives his arts subtle change and you would like to see them eternally.
And human warmth can be felt from slanting line or rounded form.
Bright desire to the future is expressed by the form extended upwards anywhere and so long.
He has an ability to observe even what kind of fine thing is and expresses a thing like solidity of construction.
The passion seeking for a new style with the sure technique is transmitted.
He was nominated for the Japan Art Craft Association prize in the 40th exhibition of Japanese Traditional Ceramic Art.
He always challenges new pottery by his original viewpoint.
