Aizome Hanaire (藍染花入)

This is the Arita ware crafted by SHOMURA, Ken (庄村健).

Aizome (藍染)
In the early years, he started making "hakuji" white porcelain.
After that, he became interested in studying fantastic and vivid color tones.
Shomura-san says that it's difficult to mix the stoneware glaze for the "jiki" ceramics.
Seeing aizome dyeing works, you may feel the softness and warmth.

Akae-machi (赤絵町)
There is the district called Akae-machi along the street passing through Arita-cho.
Here, manual industry business specialized in overglaze were gathered in the Edo era.
So many overglaze enamel porcelains have been long making.
The Bankogamashoken kiln was established in 1884, and had named from the first potter's Kenkichi.
It stands near the Kakiemon-gama which is one of the most well-known pottery in Japan.
