Shino Ichirinzashi (志野一輪差し)
This is a Mino ware vase which Sakai-san has created.
Sakai-san has challenged to create a modern Shino-yaki with one kind of sensibility.
The white soft coloring makes an additional impact on us.
Cracks like shark's skin like the picture above.
It has occured to shrinkage of glaze after being fired in a kiln.
It's also called kannyu in Japanese.
That's anything but broken, certailny available.
Sakai-san wants users to see the tension that the pattern brings.
Height : 25.5 cm
Diameter : 10.5 cm
Sakai-san learned ceramic a lot under Kato Kozo-san who is the living national treasure, Setoguro. He creates a new type of Shino-yaki in his own indivuality.
