Seihakuji Choryumon Koro (青白磁潮流文香炉)

This is a Kyoto ware incense burner which Higuchi-san has created.
Potter's wheel throwing to shape.
Firing in the electric kiln.
The incense burner is used for the Japanese tea ceremony.
The patterns are emerged diagonally.

Seihakuji (青白磁)
It's one kind of hakuji, there's the pale blue-green color caused by subtle amount of iron.
The transparent color that blends into nature is really impressive on the whole.
It's all started with baked works in China.
The glaze containing iron turns to light blue by reduction firing.
