Oshu Kiln is the place of thirty minutes' drive from Takeokitakata interchange of Nagasaki expressway. It is nearby final stop of 20 minutes' drive from the Imari station of JR Chikuhi Line by bus bound for Okawachiyama. It is called the home of the secret kiln, and the potters took over the skill as the Nabeshima clan kiln for generations. Rocky mountains soar around, it is a rich place that naturally makes you want to visit. Nabeshima Ware was protected as the clan's kiln, produced offering or gift for shogunate, feudal lord. The first generation potter Ogushi Hideji-san opened Oshu Kiln at Okawachiyama, Imari-shi. Hidenori-san has succeeded as the second generation potter, and pursues the potter's wheel and painting techniques of Nabeshima ware.
